COVID-19 Update: What We Are Doing To Keep Everyone Safe

We want to take a moment to inform you of how Custom Maids is taking all necessary steps to ensure that both clients and employees remain healthy and safe as we are open for business.

First and foremost, we are thrilled to announce that 90% of our employees are fully vaccinated and have provided us with their consent to disclose their vaccination status to you, our clients.

Once vaccinations became available, our Administrative Staff was very active in assisting our employees to get their vaccination appointments scheduled!

With this in mind, you may at any time request to know the vaccination status of your Custom Maid and /or specifically request that we send only a fully vaccinated cleaner to your home. We are absolutely able to accommodate your request.

We are so grateful as well, that so many of our clients have generously asked what they can do for their Custom Maid when visiting their home.

We would like to share with you the precautions our company has implemented as now, more than ever, keeping your home cleaned and sanitized is crucial.

Foremost, under NO circumstances will we allow an employee who is feeling sick, or exhibiting any flu-like symptoms, to come to work.

Every workday morning prior to leaving their homes, all Custom Maid employees are required to answer a Covid-19 Symptom Questionnaire and send their response to our Administrative Office.

They must inform us immediately if they are not feeling well, and self-isolation and testing will be required.

We are providing all Custom Maids with an unlimited supply of washable and/or disposable face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer to prevent the transfer of any germs and bacteria in your home.

We are also enforcing social distancing practices in our administrative office, keeping a minimum 2 metre distance from each other. We allow only one employee at a time to enter our administrative office when picking up their schedules or signing out keys to your home.

Masks and gloves are also worn by the administrative office staff when taking care of your Custom Maid. Common greetings, such as handshakes between office staff, employees, and clients are also strictly prohibited.

Our office building at 2 Carlton Street in Toronto has also implemented many innovative precautions to enforce social distancing. Entering and exiting the building is regulated with designated pathways to eliminate crowding, and to keep the flow of individuals at a safe distance from one another.

Our elevators are limited to three people per car and have floor stickers showing where to stand during your ride. Hand sanitizer stations are also present at every entrance and every floor.

When your Custom Maid enters your home, further precautions will be taken:

Your Custom Maid will sanitize his/her hands prior to entering your home. He or she will also wash their hands once in the home and prior to leaving.

Your Custom Maid will pay special attention to disinfecting cleaning supplies that they will touch and use, such as mop, bucket and vacuum handles, as well as commonly touched surfaces throughout the home.

Here are a few additional suggestions that our clients can do to help:

If you, or a family member, is experiencing any flu-like symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19, please cancel your cleaning appointment. We are waiving all late cancellation fees for reasons related to COVID-19.

If you’re not able to have your Custom Maid in your home currently, feel free to pause your regular service. When you’re ready to resume, your permanent customer file will remain active and your recurring schedule will remain intact.

Again, social distancing is extremely important! To protect you and our employees, we ask that you try to remain at least 6 feet away from your Custom Maid.

We are also requesting that all clients who currently pay for their Custom Maid services by cash or cheque, provide credit card details for ongoing payments moving forward to eliminate the handling of money and paper.

We want to assure you that everyone at Custom Maids is taking the responsibility of eliminating the spread of COVID-19 very seriously. We understand how important it is to have these precautions in place. Our intent is to be proactive, and to limit the risk to everyone’s wellness by being prepared.

Last, due to the increase in cleaning requests because of COVID-19, we want to assure you that your cleaning appointment will not be rescheduled to accommodate any new clients. Our original clients (pre-COVID-19) are our number one priority.
