Products that should NEVER be mixed together
As our last topic was about alternative cleaning products you can use in your home, we thought a good follow-up would be to inform you of cleaning products you ought not to mix. Although the list is short, it is important.
Bleach and Vinegar- this combo makes chlorine gas which can lead to coughing, breathing problems and burning/watery eyes. Do not wash with water as chlorine gas and water combined make hydrochloric and hypochlorous acids, which, without all the science jargon, is NO BUENO.

Bleach and Ammonia- this combination produces chloramine that leads to shortness of breath and chest pains.
Bleach and Rubbing Alcohol- this makes chloroform, the stuff we see all the bad guys using to knock people out with rags. It renders you unconscious in small doses and has a non-threatening sweet smell.
Hydrogen Peroxide and Vinegar- while good on their own, these two can not agree to get along, creating a peracetic/peroxyacetic acid which is highly corrosive!!
Please use caution when cleaning. Although seemingly a simple chore, the wrong mixture of chemicals could have you in the hospital.
Have a great week!
