When you call to schedule your first visit, we will select a qualified cleaning person for your home.
This first visit will serve as an opportunity for your Custom Maid to demonstrate the standard of excellence you can expect.
Then, once you are established and satisfied with a particular Custom Maid, we like to send that same cleaning person back to you each time; the cleaner has met you and is familiar with your home and your individual expectations.
Whether you use the service once a week or once a year, you will have your own cleaning person . . . someone you are comfortable with and who understands your needs.

What are the qualifications of
a CUSTOM MAIDS employee?
At CUSTOM MAIDS, we devote more time and effort to recruiting experienced cleaning personnel than we do any other aspect of our business.
To us, the ideal candidate for employment is one who comes to us with years of prior cleaning experience and verifiable references. As a result, our staff is comprised largely of traditional cleaning ladies who have been in positions of trust for many years before joining our staff.
Notwithstanding the prior qualifications they may have, all new recruits are required to complete the CUSTOM MAIDS HOUSEKEEPER TRAINING PROGRAM, involving classroom and practical components. Those who successfully complete the training are added to our staff.
Once employed, our standards are maintained through an ongoing program of training and supervision.
Do I have to use the service
It is entirely up to you how often you use the service.
Whether you need service just occasionally, or regularly on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly basis, we will be glad to accommodate your particular need.
Many people require service every week or every two weeks, while others have us in once a month or once every two months.
Thousands of people use CUSTOM MAIDS only occasionally. They are regular customers but, due to a busy or erratic schedule, it is only convenient for them to call us now and then, on an as-needed basis.

Do I need to provide cleaning
Yes. Your Custom Maid will use your cleaning supplies.
CUSTOM MAIDS employees do not travel in crews with cars and equipment; we provide traditional "one-cleaning-person-to-a-home" service. Your Custom Maid will reach you by public transit . . . making the transport of cleaning supplies prohibitive.
The good news is : our price point reflects this approach. Perhaps surprisingly (given CUSTOM MAIDS' market position), our rates are exceptionally competitive! (Please see SERVICES & COSTS.)
Moreover, our approach offers clients complete control over the cleaning products being used in their homes. There are no worries about vacuum cleaners and toilet brushes being used in multiple homes ; clients are free to purchase eco-friendly products as they see fit ; and those with young children have no concerns about unwanted chemicals being introduced into their homes.

How will my Custom Maid
gain access to my home?
We will be happy to accommodate any arrangement which is convenient and comfortable for you.
MANY CLIENTS ARE AT HOME TO LET IN THEIR CUSTOM MAID. They may remain in the home while their Custom Maid is cleaning, or they may leave for work once their Custom Maid has arrived (leaving the cleaner with instructions for locking up).
THOSE CLIENTS WHO CAN NOT BE AT HOME MAKE ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENTS. Some hide a key for their Custom Maid; some leave a key with a neighbour; and those in condominiums and apartments often leave a key with their concierge or security desk.
HUNDREDS OF CLIENTS PROVIDE CUSTOM MAID WITH A KEY TO ACCESS THEIR HOME.
Just let us know an entry arrangement which will work for you.
What forms of payment do
CUSTOM MAIDS accepts 2 forms of payment :
cash and credit card.
On the day of each visit, you may leave a cash payment on the kitchen countertop for your Custom Maid.

Alternatively, payment may be made by Credit Card
(Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Visa Debit).
Prior to your first cleaning visit, your Credit Card information will be taken by telephone and recorded in CUSTOM MAIDS' encrypted database. Your Card will be charged following the completion of the cleaning.
Regular clients may opt to have their Credit Card information kept on file (to be used on an ongoing basis).
What if I need to cancel
a cleaning visit?
You are welcome to cancel a cleaning visit.
We only ask that you contact the CUSTOM MAIDS Office 48 business hours prior to the cleaning visit (providing us the lead time necessary to ensure that your Custom Maid is booked elsewhere during your absence).
Should you need to cancel a visit with less than 48 business hours notice, we respectfully ask that a Cancellation Fee of $50 be paid (in order that we may offer your Custom Maid a small compensation for lost wages).
Am I required to
sign a contract?
No. Our clients are under no contractual obligation to CUSTOM MAIDS.

At what time will my Custom
Maid arrive at my home?
Morning cleaning visits are scheduled for an arrival time of 8am to 8:30am.
Afternoon visits are scheduled for a 1pm to 2pm arrival.
Depending on the location and size of your home, we may be able to make slight adjustments to these arrival times. Please speak with the CUSTOM MAIDS Office.
Cleanings exceeding 5 hours must be scheduled for morning arrival.
If I provide CUSTOM MAIDS
with a key, will it be safe?
Yes. Your key will be very secure.
WHEN YOUR KEY IS RECEIVED BY THE CUSTOM MAIDS OFFICE :
1. your key will be labelled with a reference number only
2. your name and address will be recorded separately in
CUSTOM MAIDS' encrypted database
3. your key will be stored in the company vault
4. when your key is needed for cleaning, it will be "signed out"
and "signed back in" by your Custom Maid.
If possible, it is best that you be at home to let in your Custom Maid on the first visit.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOUR CLEANER A KEY (FOR SUBSEQUENT VISITS) SIMPLY INFORM THE CUSTOM MAIDS OFFICE.
We will collect the key from your Custom Maid, and immediately code and store it for safe keeping.

Upon completion of each cleaning, your Custom Maid will leave a written report, keeping you abreast of your cleaning product inventory.
You will likely find that something needs to be replenished every fourth or fifth cleaning visit.

Do I need to leave a gratuity
for my Custom Maid?
In the cleaning industry, there are no hard-and-fast rules about "tipping" (as there are in the restaurant industry).
You may "tip" as you see fit, without any risk of offending your Custom Maid.
IMPORTANT NOTE :
Given that many customers include a tip/gratuity for their Custom Maid in their credit card payment, our administrative staff is compelled to treat all unexplained payment overages as "gratuities."
We respectfully ask that you be mindful of this fact when making payment.
P.S. It is understood that, from time to time, you may need to
suspend your service for several visits (for out-of-town business
trips, vacations, etc.)
